Many people are interested in their family history, but they seldom begin the search to learn more about it.

“I can’t find the time to start a big genealogy project.”

“The old documents and church books are far away and my questions to those responsible for them go unanswered.”

“I was able to get a copy of an old document, but I can’t read it because the text is different from today’s – it almost looks like chicken scratch!”

These frustrations are understandable, but it’s a shame that we let them stop our search.  Truly, the knowledge of our family history – of those who came before us – is something that is not merely interesting, but often quite meaningful to us. 

So let me help you undertake the exploration into your family history. My name is Peter Schraeder and I have worked as a genealogist for years. I live in the middle of Germany and I think genealogy is a fascinating topic - even if it is for someone else. Main area of my research is the area of northern and middle Hesse (cities like Kassel or Marburg), southern Niedersachsen (formerly kingdom of Hannover with cities like Hann. Muenden and Goettingen).
